The future came to visit our office this week. Machine Learning students from @kthuniversity in Stockholm got to meet several of Univrses' engineers and scientists. We presented our history and the current focus of our research. The response was overwhelmingly positive - we hope to see more of these students in the future.

Drive Sweden Forum 2020 was a great success and we are glad that we took part in it. After many great conversations, we now leave the forum, the Swedish west coast and Chalmers Conference Center feeling extremely optimistic about the future of mobility development in Sweden.

Drive Sweden is an important collaborative force within Swedish mobility development. We love mobility and we are glad to once again take part in the annual Drive Sweden Forum in Lindholmen, Gothenburg. Tomorrow, our CEO Jonathan Selbie will participate in a panel session at this year’s Nordic Growth conference at @munchenbryggeriet in Stockholm. The discussion will be about AI and Machine Learning and its impact on people’s everyday life, and it will be led by Chris Pfaff. We keep attending events on modern technology in some of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in Stockholm. Today, Computer Vision Scientist Miquel Marti went to Grillska Huset in Old Town to represent Univrses at a meetup about AI in connected, automated and shared mobility. This great event was arranged by our friends at Drive Sweden and @aiinnovationofsweden ...

Yesterday, we got to visit the great Stockholm City Hall (Stadshuset) in great company and for an equally great purpose. Univrses was among the invited guests to the official launch of AI Innovation of Sweden Greater Stockholm Node. An important initiative about mobilizing and collaborating within AI research and innovation in Sweden.
Congratulations to our good friend Petra Dalunde for taking on the leadership of Stockholm Node, and thanks to the rest of @aiinnovationofsweden for a great event and for building bridges within Swedish AI. We are looking forward to many future collaborations!

Announcement! Univrses’ research ”Real-Time Semantic Stereo Matching” has been accepted at ICRA (International Conference on Robotics and Automation) 2020 in Paris. The work will be presented at the conference by our Deep Learning Engineer Pier Luigi Dovesi, who has also led this research from the start. Needless to say, this is a great acknowledgement and an excellent way for us to show the world what we’re up to!
The technology enables both spatial and contextual understanding for mobile robots which makes it possible for them to navigate autonomously in an unknown environment.

Stockholm is one of the smartest cities in the world - and now it is going to get smarter. We are proud to announce that we just won a grant for Univrses’ new consortium Sthlm Virtual City along with our friends at @taxistockholm and Stockholm Stad. The grant, which is from Vinnova and Drive Sweden, will help to deliver 3DAI City, a system that will help realise our vision for the smart and sustainable cities of tomorrow. It is a great acknowledgement of the work we do and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

We’re back in Barcelona! This time, Belén, Marcel and Miquel from Univrses were visiting the Deep Learning Symposium 2019. This is an event for showcasing Deep Learning research carried out specifically by scientists in/from Barcelona. Belén was presenting her paper “Enhancing self-supervised monocular depth estimation with traditional visual odometry” today.

Big things are happening within Mobility research and development at the moment. Yesterday, we were on the guest list at the first ever CEVT Innovation Day – a fun event full of interesting conversations and presentations.
